ViX 2009

Growing up in the small beach town of Vitoria in Brazil, Paula Hermanny spent most of her days as a girl in a swimsuit. As a young adult, her love of travel brought her to San Diego to study English, while still being able to enjoy the beach life. Frustrated by the lack of stylish and functional swimwear in the U.S. market, Paula decided to pursue her design dreams focusing on the contemporary swim market. ViX, whose name is a derivative of her hometown Vitoria, was thus started in 1998, with a small capsule collection of brazilian-cut bikinis. Since then ViX has evolved into a vast collection of swim and resort wear including bikinis, tankinis, one-pieces, sarongs, caftans, and beach dresses for the resort, spring, and summer seasons, and beyond. With the huge success of the ViX collections, Paula has since been able to branch out by launching Sofia by ViX, a whimsical and flirty line for the teen market, and Hermanny by ViX, a sophisticated and simple collection for women wanting more coverage and support.
