KGB 2008

KGB 2008KGB hit the swimwear scene 4 years ago with a communistic blast. Models in Russian hats and fur boots and bikinis which reflected the harder times under the rule of the KGB was the theme. Although the initials KGB stand for Kirsti Grinna Bikinis... this renewed awareness of the USSR appealed to the youth of the world who were not yet alive during the suppression of this communistic rule. A surge in Russian inspired fashion and accessories has followed the launch of KGB, but KGB remains in the forefront of this fashion movement. For 2008, KGB focuses on the jr to young contemporary female who wants an bikini that reflects her personal style as well as inner strength. Motocross inspired, and celebrating the guts and determination that goes into this very difficult and demanding as well as dangerous sport, and the glory for those who succeed beyond all circumstances, the collection identifies these traits as positive within our personal lives as well: the never give up attitude that allows the youth of our culture to achieve their goals and dreams. The prints are dramatic and strong, reflective of these attitudes. The boldness of the hardware and huge crystal embellishments on some styles appeal to these ideals of youth, strength, and unwillingness to settle for anything less than the best. The bikinis are cut in such a way to flatter the toned body of a young female and give her the confidence to know that she has chosen to live her life the way she prefers and the rest of the world can follow her lead!
